The Artist behind the sound

SAXOPHONIST | VOCALIST | MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST | Artist

Serge Benoit is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and artist from Houston, Texas. At heart, Serge is simply a young kid from Houston who loves music. What began as a passion for playing and creating has grown into opportunities to perform across the country and alongside some of the musicians who have inspired him along the way. Although he plays several instruments, Serge primarily performs as a Saxophonist and Vocalist.

Still early in his career, Serge has already performed on stages across the United States. Serge currently plays lead tenor saxophone for Caliente, the two-time DownBeat Award-winning youth Latin jazz ensemble of the Diaz Music Institute. Through Caliente and his work as an independent artist, Serge has performed nationally, including appearances at The Midwest Clinic in Chicago and the Jazz Education Network (JEN) Conference in New Orleans, as well as performances throughout Houston and beyond. His musical experiences have also given him the opportunity to perform and work alongside Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning and nominated artists while developing as both a musician and performer.

As an artist, Serge draws from a wide range of music rather than limiting himself to a single genre. His influences span Jazz, Flamenco, Mariachi, Latin Jazz, R&B, Soul, Pop, Gospel, and the music and culture he grew up around. Whether singing, playing saxophone, or performing on another instrument, his goal remains the same: to make music that feels genuine, connects with people, and reflects his love for the art.

Serge is grateful for his experiences performing and working with many incredible musicians, including Oscar Hernández, Jeff Coffin, Tony Succar, Néstor Torres, Tia Fuller, Francisco Torres, Carl Allen, Oscar Cartaya, Makarines, Aroa Fernandez, and others.
